Oregon Urology Institute is seeking a full time LEAD Front Office Receptionist

Oregon Urology Institute is one of the largest, most advanced urological centers in the Northwest. Oregon Urology Institute provides patients with some of the region's finest medical experts covering every major urological specialty using proven and leading-edge technologies such as robotic surgery, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy.

We are looking for someone with excellent people skills that is interested in moving into a lead role This role coordinates and oversees activities of the front office and front office team members to ensure compassionate and professional care for patients and effective and efficient front office workflow.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Greet patients and visitors.
  • Check-in patients for appointments
  • Verify and update necessary information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Receive payments from patients and issue receipts.
  • Reconcile daily cash box.
  • Work closely with providers and nursing staff.
  • Book, coordinate and reschedule patient appointments.
  • Arrange on-site testing and outpatient procedures, answers patient questions regarding their appointments and testing.
  • Order labs and imaging with correct diagnosis information per provider discretion.
  • Enter and forward referrals to outside entities per provider discretion.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments as needed.
  • Ensures a positive customer service atmosphere and interactions in the reception area.
  • Able to work and train in each position within the reception area.
  • Be well-versed in all aspects of the front office processes.
  • Train new staff and continue development of current staff on new/established processes
  • Be the liaison between reception staff, clinical staff, providers, and patients.
  • Assist with interviews and performance reviews.
  • Assist with staff schedules as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Supervisor or Manager

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent Patient Service skills and abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills required.
  • Communicating by telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years relevant medical experience or equivalent a must.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Must be flexible and quick learner.
  • Experience working in a windows based EMR/PM
  • Working knowledge of healthcare insurance.
  • Willing to travel.

ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to communicate with patients and families effectively and professionally.
  2. Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with Interdepartmental personnel.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, reaching, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy/fax machine and phone

This is a Full-time position with employer paid insurance premiums for Life, Medical, Dental and Vision for employees and additional voluntary benefits. The position pays $18.25 to $26.02 per hour, DOE.
