Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated detailed-oriented individual that enjoys investigative work and has the ability to multitask and prioritize according to departmental protocols. The Electronic Medical Records Resource uses clinical thinking and analyzes clinical data while coordinating patient care electronically and verbally with patients and other organizations. Using a team approach, the resource is committed to communicating with the department, providers, and the organization in a positive manner. In this medical office, you are making a difference!

Essential Required Responsibilities

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Provide internal support to the providers ensuring clinical data is located in the patient's chart
  • Follow up on outstanding orders with patients, facilities, and the organization via telephone, fax, and patient portal
  • Navigate external portals to collect all documents required for patients' appointments and provider review
  • Manage electronic and paper documents
  • Manage and prioritize multiple provider schedules
  • Manage and coordinate urgent requests to facilitate patient care
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to retain information
  • Ability to multitask
  • Follow and complete departmental protocols
  • Ability to analyze data through reading and dissecting pertinent clinical data
  • Document inside the patient's chart concisely, using proper grammar

Qualifications

  • Computer experience, required
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, required
  • Ability to accept and work with a changing environment, required
  • Ability to adhere to confidentiality and departmental guidelines, required
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions, required
  • Knowledge of Athena EMR, preferred
  • Medical terminology, preferred
  • Certification preferred; high school diploma required

Knowledge

Skillful in prioritizing and organizing work efficiently. Ability to follow written and verbal workflows, using resources when needed. Accurate clinical data collection and adding information into a flowsheet. Ability to be trained and understand quickly on new systems and applications. Must retain information and analyze the data using clinical thinking. Experience with some Microsoft Office products and Acrobat Adobe.
