Oregon Urology Institute has opening for a Per Diem Radiologic Tech.

Oregon Urology Institute is one of the largest, most advanced urological centers in the Northwest. Oregon Urology Institute provides patients with some of the region's finest medical experts covering every major urological specialty using proven and leading-edge technologies such as robotic surgery, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy.

We are looking for someone with excellent people skills to serve the patients, providers and other support staff by performing tests using the appropriate radiology equipment to make clinical diagnostic X-rays and performing routine diagnostic procedures as directed by providers.

Physical Demands: Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation of all department equipment. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Utilize lifting devices such as Hoyer lift & sling, operate equipment and review X-rays.

Working Conditions: Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Duties:

  1. Position patients and adjust equipment for taking X-rays following established procedures.
  2. Operating a C-arm equipment in an OR setting (this is preferred and have the ability to learn).
  3. Instruct patients regarding procedures.
  4. Follow prescribed safety standards in operating all required radiologic equipment.
  5. Select length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis.
  6. Examine radiologic images for properties such as density, contrast, definition, magnification and distortion.
  7. Ensure equipment is in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  8. Process routine paperwork
  9. Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
  10. Maintain patient confidentiality.
  11. Maintain strictest confidentiality.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance Requirements: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area of radiography. Knowledge of radiology equipment and testing. Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology, including equipment body mechanics and patient movement. Skill in properly positioning patients to provide quality imaging. Skill in trouble-shooting equipment operation and performing simple adjustments. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Ability to communicate clearly.

Education: Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved (two-year) school for radiologic technology.

Certification /License: Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT). Current Oregon License in diagnostic radiography. Students with a valid temp license from OBMI qualify. Healthcare provider level CPR certification required.

This is a Per Diem position that offers flexibility, 20 hours per week or less and no weekends. We offer excellent wages starting at $31.08 to $44.51 PH (DOE) and a fun and compelling culture.
