Oregon Urology Institute has a Full-Time, URODYNAMIC COORDINATOR opportunity available.

Oregon Urology Institute is one of the largest, most advanced urological centers in the Northwest. Oregon Urology Institute provides patients with some of the region's finest medical experts covering every major urological specialty using proven and leading-edge technologies such as robotic surgery, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibility of the Urodynamic Coordinator is to perform Urodynamic testing.

DUTIES:

  • Performs tests with high degree of precision to ensure accurate diagnosis.
  • May use electromyography to capture information from the bladder - this requires placing electrodes on the patient.
  • Be comfortable collecting urine specimens and placing urethral catheters on male and female patients.
  • Responsibilities include maintaining the status of equipment and supplies.
  • Remain professional and focused to ensure cooperation with the patient, physician and other staff members.
  • Responsible for patient care, e.g., getting patients in rooms in a timely and professional manner and taking vital signs, weights, and urine specimens.
  • Instruct patient on preparations of tests and procedures.
  • Prepare patient for procedures.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment after use and prepare it for its next use.
  • Order and maintain adequate stock of supplies.
  • Cooperate and assist other staff as needed within their scope of practice.
  • Maintains a professional attitude toward patients, visitors, and other staff.
  • Communicates with providers regarding patient condition and plan of care.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care.
  • Knowledge of organization policies and procedures to administer patient care.
  • Working knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited CMA/RMA/LPN school
  • Urodynamic or Urology experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Graduate of an accredited school for either CMA/RMA/LPN

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

  • Urodynamics/Urology 1-2 years
  • Clinical administration skills
  • Electronic Medical Record Experience
  • Minimum of one-two years of professional experience in a medical practice
